$750 CAD Gaming PC

ROK

Here's what I put together, and it's horribly over budget- http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/zZ3TjX

I'd like to stick with a GTX 760 with this build and (hopefully) intel for the CPU but I am open to amd cpus. I'd also like to be able to SLI eventually but it really dosen't matter much. Also a decent looking chassis would be preferred. I don't mind going ITX/ small form factor and I'd rather it but not if it sacrifices performance or price. I really need some unbiased takes on this build as I am horrible keeping underbudget.

Also, Canada. (for a cousin)

For some reason people think a GPU is not needed? it is. and needs to be included in the price of $750.

Windows on G2A is not legit and will expire after a year or so. However it's good enough if you're waiting until Windows 10 to buy it legit

Not very informed when it comes to AMD chipsets, is that 970 ok to OC a 8320 or should i go for something like a 990 chipset? I'd likely put a Xigmatek Dark Knight II on it over a 212evo as there's one lying around.

Edit: GPU also needs to be incl. in price

Would be a good idea to get a better mobo to OC but you had a 4460 in your build which isn't overclockable. Also I thought you already owned the 760? Why does it need to be counted in the price?

Build is for a friend whoose bought a 760 second hand. 750 is the combined budget and it's pretty strict- so i guess like $520 budget for the rest of the PC.

Most cad software are single-threaded and rely a lot on strong single-core performance so i'd strongly suggest and intel build instead with an nvidia gpu for cuda.

Here's an updated build I've got but I'm slightly concerned with using a G3258 in terms of futureproofing.

This would be a very good gaming rig for the price, you get a 3gb GPU perfectly capable of running every game at 1080P on high settings

it's a little bit over budget but it's defenetly worth it...this GPU is better than GTX 760 and the core i5-4460 is better for gaming than any overclocked FX:

Oooooh okay. Don't get a 760 then. At this price range AMD cards are better

sure be concerned a dual core is not gonna cut it very long even highly overclocked it will struggle in many games will have a hard time keeping up with even mid-range GPU...the core i5-4460 is hands down a much better pick

Since you're on a tight budget right now, get a G3258 now and wait till Broadwell, because by that time you can save up some more and get an i5 5670K (or whatever they call it) as an upgrade to this build

This seems sensible. Once you get enough cash you can get an unlocked I5 either Devil's Canyon or Broadwell. The case I like, and I added damn good value fans for excellent airflow. It's also perfectly suited to take the Cooler Master Seidon 240m in the right side panel too, to be used as an intake. Asus GTX 760 is only $10 more than this R9 280 if you prefer the 760. I like the mobo because it has 6 Sata3 ports and a Sata Express, meaning it has 8 Sata3 ports if you prefer to use them instead.

Don't be afraid of using things that arnt main brand i had a guy help me with my build and i got things that were way better than that for the same price almost.

My Build>>>>>>      http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/wjm22400/saved/ZzpD4D

If you like it dont be afraid to use it. also it has added on monitor and keyboard so if you want take it off if you dont want to use those things....

There are things that are just as good but cheaper out there that arnt name brand and they work just as good so dont be afraid to use them.

Also if you use mine you get an 8 core processor for a cheaper price... Amd is a good company and they are very reliable. Also as i am looking at my list you may need to change the hard drive because the one i have choosen are almost out of stock. Also with my build, it is way better cooled with more fans. The case is a case but the main reason i got it was because i like the way it looks...

Hope i could help.

Well games are legit and for 1 dollar you can get G2A Shield which protects you from this, if you get this just complain with customer support which is actually legit and talk with you via an online chat and resolve your issue. Bought a few games already never got duped ones and one time I wanted to get a refund to upgrade from standard to special edition on a game and they did that.

Although I wouldn't buy software from a site like G2A rather spend the extra money or get a torrent for it.
