Wow..just wow ubisoft

2 months ago i decided to buy AC Unity.

Since then i started to watch linus and the stuff people are posting to get and idea of how to build a pc.

One month ago i bought all the pc parts for 800 €, including an i5 4460 and an msi gtx 970 with 8gbram.i also added and SSD cause i wanted in multiplayer mode the maps to load quick.

i tested bf on ultra- 100-120 fps.tomb raider 60fps+ with superresolution..

and today i visited the steam website of ac unity and read those Spec requirements...are they bullshting? this game hits 30fps 900p on the consoles!

i played every single AC Game and now this shit...so i guess no ultra for me "cause i dont  have and i7" (cause they cant optimize games)

i wonder how much time they spent to optimize this game on the consoles compared to the PC.

I can almost guarantee the specs are artificially inflated. Do the world a favour and please never give Ubisoft money again though.

What's the latest news? Are they still capping at 30fps on PC? If so, anything over about an R9 270 and an i3 won't give you any more performance realistically.

Yes, it's bullsh*t. Just the type of BS we've come to expect from ubisoft. Don't worry, as you pointed out that thing runs on consoles which are about 1/4th as powerful as your system. You'll max dat s**t.

 

Even wolfenstein the new order listed an i7 in the specs, but nobody with an i5 ever had any issues with it. The game was good, the min requirements were the only "wut" moment with it, whereas ubisoft just keeps on digging...

They are saying that the Phenom II x4 940 @ 3.0GHz is equivalent to a Core i5-2500K @ 3.3GHz and FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz for the minimum CPU specs. Those CPUs seem to be very different from each other.

They are saying that the Phenom II x4 940 @ 3.0GHz is equivalent to a Core i5-2500K @ 3.3GHz and FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz for the minimum CPU specs. Those CPUs seem to be very different from each other.

 

If anything the phenom ii x6 1100t is comparable to the i5 lol

I think the minimum specs might actually be the minimal specs to run the game at 1080p60fps because as we have seen in BlackFlag and WatchDogs, Ubisoft doesn't really optimize their games for PC, as they mainly focus on the Consoles. However, if it is optimized and need's this specs, i guess we'll get awesome graphics.

Ubisoft tried to push 30 fps to us in the closed beta of The Crew, but it got hated so much that people were looking for ways to remove that cap and would even go as far as changing game files. So Ubisoft said they won't keep the cap, it's not a promise though.

AC: Unity was already off my radar when I heard the voice acting for their French characters in the French revolution would be using British-accented English. I would have expected Québécois developers to care a little more about this sort of thing. The gameplay has been unbelievably iterative, so to me a convincing, interesting setting is all this franchise really has left.

But the spec to achieve 1080p 60fps is what should be quoted as the recommended spec.

 

Minimum spec is where you try to lower settings, drop resolution and try to achieve a stable 30fps (just enough to enjoy the game). Saying you need a 7970 of 680 for that is ludicrous because that's 300% the GPU horsepower of a PS4.

2: You expected them to put effort into their ports, when they clearly don't even put effort into their console game launches. 900p at 30fps u jokin m8?

3: Ubisoft.

 

Can we all just stop buying their stuff? Force them out of the PC market or get them to clean up their act. Console kids settle for shit because they've never known better. We know how gaming is supposed to be, so why do we still support sub-par gaming experiences?

You get points for sincerity. and I have good news for you, the game should run fine on those specs.

 

You preordered the game before you even had the computer to run it on? What, did you think they'll run out of stock?

Stop preordering games, that's for whiny kids with consoles who don't have the brain to see what preordering does nor the spine to stand their ground when they are taken for a ride.

This is LTT. One cannot force "style over substance" values & agenda on people that actually aren't afraid to pop the lid off their electronic devices, which happens to be the most common denominator of this community. Rather than take shots at this community in every post, why not seek out like-minded individuals elsewhere?

My main point was that they don't really optimize their games as you've seen with the other two games, and therefore it could actually be the minimum specs, i just considered 1080p60fps as the minimum specs :), but you're right, normally 60 fps is not minimum.

Well, Black Flag wasn't that bad. I was able to run the game at 1080p 60FPS with a Phenom II X4 965, GTX 470 and 4GB RAM on medium settings while recording.

On the other hand, Watch_Dogs wasn't as smooth. 

 

From what Ubisoft showed us, AC U doesn't look that much better than BF. It might even be the same engine. 

That's why those reqs are crazy.

Between this AC Unity BS and all of the crap they're trying to pull with Far Cry 4, I'm pretty much done with Ubisoft. It sucks, because I had a LOT of fun playing Far Cry 3 and Black Flag. They were really fun games. At this point, these new games would have to be unbelievably amazing for me to even consider purchasing them.
