i know it's good phone but what about build quality

Build quality is OK ;frame gets damaged easily and back cover gets fucked up if you drop it too much (but no where near M7 or M8 quality) ,phone performs great but touchwiz sucks ,I have a i9500 but it was a free replacement over my dead i9300

I'm really hard on phones. I hate cases so my phones are always naked. It took me 13 months to kill my s4. And it took a screen down drop on to tile to break it. 13 months is good for me, I figure about a year average.

Yes it's a plastic phone. The back cover and battery will pop out fairly often when you drop it. But I don't think you will sustain damage to the frame any more than you would on any other phone. That includes aluminum frame phones. It's a trade off though. I can't live without an sd card slot and removable battery. I keep a spare battery in my bag or even pocket. If I go out for the night and know I'm not getting home I can just swap the battery in the morning.

I hate touchwiz. Put cyanogenmod on it asap.

I have an S3, which has similar if not worse build quality. That said, in two years of daily use I've not so much as scratched it as far as I can tell. The battery cover feels particularly flimsy, but again, never had a problem. The poor build quality makes it very lightweight and easy not to drop it.

 

I wholeheartedly agree with flashing Cyanogenmod on it. I just did it after a few years with TouchWiz and suddenly I love my phone again.

No it's not. For the price a Nexus 5 is a much better option.
