Asus M4A89GTD PRO Surround view?

For the record: Surround view is what my MoBo calls it when you use a dedicated GPU and your MoBo's GPU. It has nothing to do with eyefinity or surround gaming in general.

I want to use a GPU I have laying around here. It seems to give better performance.

Anyways, it has DisplayPort and DVI and I have a VGA and VGA+DVI display.

I searched online and found someone wanted to do the same, so he enabled onboard graphics, so he can use VGA from his motherboard and DVI from the GPU.

I did what he said, but I still can't change the Surround view settings. How can I change this?
Thanks.

As this person says, you have to go into the BIOS and do these steps. He says you have to set "Internal Graphics mode to either UMA, Sideport or UMA+SidePort"

But which ever I choose, the option "Surround view" (under Advanced > Chipset Config > 890GX config > Internal Graphics Config) stays light gray, meaning I can't change it.

What GPU do you have? You should be able to configure eyefinity in catalyst control center, though it's probably not possible to use it if you use two different GPU's at the same time. I would disable to onboard graphics and just plug in both displays in the discrete GPU.

I am using a Nvidia Quadro 410 card ( I had one laying around, it has Displayport and DVI). The computer I'm using it with is the one in my signature, so it has an AMD CPU.

I use onboard graphics (since I don't have a GPU) and decided to throw this one in, because it performed better.

What exactly do you mean with surround settings?

I think it has something to do with using a nvidia and ati gpu at the same time. Do you have drivers installed for them both?

Surround view has nothing to do with AMD or Nvidia in general, I think this is something that causes confusion.

It is an option in the BIOS of my MoBo, which allows the use of an dedicated GPU and the onboard GPU at the same time. I need this because I can't connect one of my displays to the dedicated GPU.

I use 2 monitors in my setup, one with VGA and one with VGA+DVI. My dedicated GPU which I want to add in my system, only has DVI and Displayport. I can't connect my VGA-only screen to it.

I want to use DVI from the dedicated GPU and VGA of my onboard (mobo) GPU.

Ah, alright. That should be possible. Do you have anywhere in the BIOS have the iGPU VRAM set to 0MB or something?

I did not find anything like that. A lot of options are set to 'AUTO' as I never use the BIOS.

In the Ai Tweaker section I did find a option called "enhanced iGPU SpeedStep" under "GPU booster".

That option is as well set to Auto

That just changes the GPU clockspeed depending on the load, so it shouldn't affect things. Does your BIOS support taking screenshots or can you post pictures?

I can take pictures with my phone and upload them.

This is a picture of the Surround View option in my motherboard BIOS.

I don't see any reason why it would be gray. Are both monitors plugged in? Is there a iGP setting in Chipset Configuration?

Both are plugged in. DVI into GPU and VGA into Motherboard. No such function.

I guess I'll have to search around the internet some more.

Worth a shot, I don't have such a motherboard or a similar one so it's hard for me to find out
