MSi Z97 Gaming 5 is great and affordable. 

 

If I may, that PSU sucks get the EVGA 750W G2, also the CM Seidon 240M is a better AIO.

Hi all!

 

I am currently on the process of building a new pc and I am kinda struggling with the motherboard choice. I work with audio and video games, so audio production, gaming and working on video are paramount. I have narrowed it down to the following parts:

 

CPU: Intel Core i7 4990K

Case: Fractal Design Define R4

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB

PSU: Corsair RM750 80 Plus Gold

Case Fans: Noctua NF-F12

CPU Colling: Corsair H100i

 

I am also interested in having WiFi. I have kinda narrowed it down to the MSI Z97-G45 and the Asus Z97 series mobos. Any suggestions?

ASUS Z97-PRO Wi-Fi AC is a good one, or MSI Z97 MPOWER MAX AC

Personal preference for me is the sabertooth z97 mark 1 with an addin card.

How come is the Corsair PSU bad? Quite a surprise to hear so.

It's overpriced IMO and you don't get all Japanese capacitors. High RMA rates and chance of coil whine.

I own the MSI GAMING 5 and I vouch for the value. A lot of the premium overclocking capabilities at a modest price.

I prefer to use a PCI-E wifi card as well.
