Asus 770 is on amazon (used) for just $210, I'd suggest that over a 290 as the performance is about the same, but the 770 will run quieter and cooler, along with use less power :P (and #GOTEAMGREEN!)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

R9 290 matches the 780 in 1080p, beats it in 1440p. Significantly faster than the GTX 770.

I'm sorry but no. performance is not "about the same". Plus, it's used :P

I'm just sitting here laughing at my brother who bought an Asus R9 290 for $340. Poor human being.

I hate myself for buying a 270X for 180

I'll probably pick up an R9 390X when it comes out (Or whatever it'll be callled), Hopefully my 8320 won't bottleneck it too much.

Although my 270X was the TOP overclocked edition that's clocked at 1120MHZ, 70mhz faster than stock speeds!

Nice! I run my 270 at 1080 Core and 1500 memory. IDK if it's my card that doesn't like to overclock, BF4 that just likes to crash, or if it's drivers, but If I try 1110 Core, it eventually crashes in BF4.

Uhh no. A 280x beats out a 770 by a little bit and a 290 is more in the 780 range not to mention the double vram, plus for the price this is new. Don't talk out of your ass fanboy.

Hmm, then I guess the comparison I looked at must have been a load of bullshit..
