Windows 8.1 problem. Help me please.

Steeler1994

I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7. I have everything updated and drivers are fine. For some reason, Windows just crashes with a blue screen and says something went wrong and restarts my PC. I went into the event log and there is nothing except kernal issue and that's because it shut down unexpectedly. This usually happens 2-3 times a day. I never had this problem with Windows 7. Can anyone help?

Did you upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit? if so, drivers would need to change to 64 bit.

What's the error message? If it's dpc_watchdog_violation, it's due to and ssd firmware problem most of the time, just update the ssd's firmware if so. I get that error around 2-3 times a day too and I can't do much about it because I've got an mx100 ssd and crucial hasn't released their damn firmware update yet.
