Mic volume on headset goes loud when talking!

Hello LinusTechTips,

 

Posting on behalf of a good friend of mine who is having problems with his steelseries siberia v2 headset. He finds when he talks, the mic volume goes to 100 when he has specifically set it to 30. Is there a way to set it so the mic volume remains at 30.

 

Note: Not talking about speaker volume!
