Are you intending to reinstall windows? I believe to do this is by putting the cd in, deleting the current partition, then reinstalling windows.

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/gr/mjbkeyfinder.htm Run that, make sure you do it in offline, so disconnect from the network. Then run it, note down the key, make sure you take a picture of it incase you get a letter wrong, then re-install windows 7 and then use the key when it asks you to.

Does your pc not have a sticker on the side of the case?

Oh, well then that's a problem. The only way of installing premium would be to get another cd then.

If you have access to another computer, download the official .iso from the Microsoft store and burn it to a CD/memory stick. (http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool). Then select the device as your boot device and re-use the key that was on the sticker on your laptop.

Also yes downloading the iso is perfectly legal since it's the trial version, activating it with a keygen/fake key is the illegal part.

Do you not have the CD that came with the laptop?

Download the one you need from digital river:

Then burn it and install it with your key: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/

The first two are yeah, have you got a 32 bit or 64 bit system there?

It should say on the sticker!

Then download it, burn it install with your key.

BTW they are official files and not from torrents or anything so your safe.

I guess if you re-install and "Overwrite" the actual Win7 installation the new install will keep most of your data in a folder called "Windows.old" or such, please tell me if i'm wrong guys.

Don't get mad, get even...
