which one is better? nvidia new DSR or AA?

randy hutajulu

i just downloaded the new geforce driver last night and there is a new feature which is the DSR. have u try it?

i don't know what to say but somehow i feels so blurry even if i only use it on 33% (stock)

i'm using 1920x1200 monitor with GTX 780. i found out that the best resolution (playable) that i can get is 1600p (2x downsampling)

i tried watch dogs, shadow of mordor, and evil within they both has the same effect. blurryy..... hahahhaa...

i don't know if i did something wrong or not.

somehow i love to play my watch dogs on 1920x1200 with 4xMSAA rather than downsampling it from 1600p with no AA.

did i do anything wrong or maybe u know the best setting for this DSR

please share anything about DSR here,

thx guys.

Change the smoothness setting in Nvidia control panel under "DSR - Smoothness."

When I tried it I found that 17% was the most satisfying balance between too jaggy and too blurry.

That said I still prefer downsampling by adding custom resolution in Nvidia control panel, it somehow looks better imo.

I also noticed that if I enable DSR the desktop gets messed up when I hover over taskbar, it has this smooth rectangle effect which doesn't appear in screen captures.

I use the DSR feature to run games at 4k, 100% smoothness because I can, but to be honest, I some games I find it a bit off putting and I normally have AA cranked to the max with DSR on.

It is rather experimental, and it will work in some games better that others (great for games that lack good AA options)

Try tweaking settings too, it can make a big difference
