Ubisoft JKOD: Assassin's Creed Unity min. requirements (i5-2500K, Radeon 7970/GTX 680)

EDIT: Spec officially confirmed: http://blog.ubi.com/assassins-creed-unity-pc-specs/
This was found on a Korean gaming news site earlier, it linked to a document on Intra Games page, a distributor of Ubisoft games in South Korea.
First link translation, the other original. Unfortunately, it seems gone now but courtesy of screen grabs below the (now empty) links:

Someone grabbed translation while the page was live:

A industry insider in Japan confirms these specs, claims he can't provide a link because of a unique ID that can be traced back to him however he uploaded an image:

Every time this happens, people go to panic mode and PC haters salivate  because it's an opportunity to express hate for the PC. I would wait a little longer before drawing conclusions. There is something wrong with AMD having same chip as minimum and recommended and the GPU's don't have a significant gap in performance either. Thoughts?

I'm just expecting it to be a badly optimized and buggy port. I think Ubisoft is just being lazy and not putting any effort into the PC version.

Also for whoever is getting it on release. Expect Uplay to not work and you not being able to play the game.

The relatively small difference between the minimum and required specs just doesn't compute IMO. Especially with the same CPU for both the minimum and recommended specs.

Maybe @LinusTech could look into it. I expect an actual shovel to make an appearance on the next WAN show in the "Ubisoft segment".

someone will have a ridiculous setup and it will still run like garbage, then we'll see. I guess they might want to harmstring the PC version to justify their latest PR bullshit

wait for a few modders to fix it, then buy

Recommended 8GB of ram? If the game was optimized then hell yeah, bring on the amazing stuff used for all of that. Sadly it's not.

Not like I would bother with this game but if Ubisoft don't want to put any effort into their future games then i'll put no effort into spending my money on them by avoiding them like the plague and purchase other games with said cash.

I am surprised it doesn't say shotgun anywhere in the recommended specs  :D

And i bet even with the recommended specs you will run at 40 fps with huge fps dips.

At least there is no 5820K as recommended

This is a joke. a GTX 770/280X as minimum (whatever it means, I mean 1080p lowest settings 30 FPS?) is a joke, whereas these cards can play games at 1080p at Ultraish/high settings...

I like how they put

- CPU:
Minimum - Intel Core® i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz or above
Recommended - Intel Core® i7-3770 @ 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz or above

See that there?

At least 8350 on both minimum and recommended...

Meanwhile in GPULand

- GPU:
Minimum - NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 or above
Graphic Memory minimum - 2GB

Recommended - NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or above
Graphic Memory Recommended - 3 GB

Looks like this game will be GPU bound... Might be like ACIII where you don't have the option of turning off certain things...

Or it's another badly optimized, GPU bound game and Ubisoft can't be bothered to spend a little extra time to make the game run smoother and harness the full potential of the PC...

So to run any UBI game you kinda need the 'Brute Force'......

I understand optimizations and driver fix's (the last 15 years, constant evolution of GPU's), but not much has changed instruction wise since DX11.1 / .2 and how long ago was that.?

How hard can it really be to optimize something they've supposed to have been using/know a lot about from the GET-GO and past history of gaming and teachings...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

(whatever it means, I mean 1080p lowest settings 30 FPS?)

That's the issue with the publisher providing minimum requirements. It usually doesn't mean anything so concrete or consistent as that. We'll just have to see how it performs when it releases.

I suggest we all get together to buy a copy of the game and burn it on youtube to express our hatred for Ubisoft.

seriously, how can there be so many idiots in one company?

Giving them money for their product to then go and burn might not send exactly the right message. :P

As of right now there's to be little knowledge of the specs of ACU but suspect it will not be that bad, I mean the 6 g RAM is not a problem for us right?

Linus likes to recommend 8G RAM for any of his builds that's for gaming like most other PC game builders these days, my of us here will probably be ok in the CPU as a lot of people OC their system to get the best for their money (and that includes the GPU too).

I have pre ordered Assassins Creed Unity Notre Dame Edition but will probably not play it from day one as WoD comes out the day before!
