For just a little bit more, and if you're willing to drop the SSD (which, let's face it isn't important unless you're super weird about boot/load times), you can get all the way up to an i7-5820k, which is a six-core workstation monster of a CPU. I put in the same cheap GPU because it sounds like gaming isn't really a priority, and it's good enough for most things so long as you don't care about running everything on ultra.

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor  ($374.99 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: ASRock X99 Extreme3 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard  ($208.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($82.98 @ OutletPC)

If you really want an SSD, you can throw one in there, but I think getting the i7-5820k is more important than that.

Have anything constructive to offer? I'm not pandering to you after all, but to the OP.

X99 is damn tempting. But at the cost of everything else, I'm not sure.

Much better GPU that what you had.

If you want an Nvidia card, choose this instead PNY VCGGTX7803XPB-OC.
