Fermi/Kepler DSR support

Go to solution Solved by Lord Pantaloons,

You need to go into Nvidia Control Panel and turn on the DSR native resolution multipliers and smoothness factor in the Manage 3D settings menu, then when you go to tweak your resolution in Geforce Experience or in a game, all the Super Resolutions will be available as options. 5120x2880 is BEAST.

This option was not present, I already knew what I was supposed to do to enable it but I couldn't as the options were not there. Just did another fresh install though and it fixed it, Thank you DDU.

In the most recent driver release Nvidia enabled DSR on Fermi and Kepler based GPU's, I updated and I'm not able to use it as the option does not appear anywhere. Has anyone else updated and not been able to use it?

Perhaps you should check the release notes on the newest driver before saying that you "know for a fact"  http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/78873

It clearly says

"Gaming Technology

Supports Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) on Kepler and Fermi-based desktop GPUs"

I also know what downsamlpling is and I run all my games downsampled but I was hoping with the new implementation I would be able to get a resolution higher than 3200x1800 because that is the maximum that my monitor will allow.

@tmc

I turned off SLI and no change, the option is not present in the control panel or GFE.

What kind of resolution is 3200x1800? I have never heard of this rez before.

It's a larger 16:9 resolution there just aren't any monitors in that size because it's more of a stepping stone to 4k, It's about 3k-ish.

NVIDIA WHY YOU MISLEAD US?

They said shortly after the announcement of DSR that older generations of cards would support it and that they would roll it out a little while after the 900 series launch. They never mislead anyone.

I take back what I said, it's a very uncommon resolution. There was a high end gaming laptop that just came out with that res and there are some others too I had just forgotten about them, regardless it's a 16:9 res that's around 3k.

I think by "Fermi" they are referring to the GTX 500's. At least, the news outlets are only listing 500's and above.

DSR + SLI + G-SYNC Monitor plugged in = DSR missing from Control Panel, no way to use it

DSR + SINGLE GPU + G-SYNC Monitor plugged in = Works

DSR + SLI = Works for most if not everyone

This is annoying as fuck, i have an Asus Rog Swift and x2 780s so i cannot use DSR unless i either disable SLI or unplug my G-Sync monitor and use my secondary regular one.

How can they overlook something like this....I was on the EVGA forums and i saw people reporting the issue on Maxwell like 3 weeks ago if not longer...
