2-way SLI GTX 670

Hello Friends,

I have had my gtx 670 2gb since 2012 and I am pleased. With the release of the 980 and 970, I said heck I will save and get the 980 early next year. I went on ebay for shit and giggles and noticed that the price of the 670's have dropped like crazy so I bought one for $150. I know that the SLI option might not work in some games, but overall would the performance gain for $150 be worth it? How would the cards stack up against each other? 2-way Sli 670's vs 980, 970. Thank you for you feedback!

No, definitely not worth $150.

Sell your current 670 and buy a 970 or 980 with the money :)

It will be like SLI 760 so performance in most newer games will be about between a stock 970 and stock 980. If you play a lot of newer games, YES it is worth the $150

The performance will be good/great for $150. But a 970 or 980 is better for the future.

I think i'm both ways. Whatever is easier and cheaper.

2 670s = 1 970.

I found this article and going off this, its saying its comparable to a ref. 980.

I was thinking since it was only $150 I can still buy it next year and give the cards to a friend or something.

Yes, 2 670s should be equal 1 980, not 970. I'd grab it for that price. Personally, I plan to do sli of my 770s when I'll have a money.

The big thing you have to think of here is that you are still running cards with a 2GB frame buffer

its becoming increasingly apparent that 2Gb is not cutting it these days in alot of modern titles.

However if you dont mind turning down things like anti aliasing then yes for $150 it should give you a reasonable

boost, game dependant.

personally these days i stick with linus's philosophy buy the most expensive single GPU you can afford

then you dont have to worry about games with no sli profile, greater heat issues, greater power requirements.
