Windows 8.1 and OS X Yosemite Networking Question

spaynton

I'm having a problem with my file sharing setup in OS X and Windows 8.1. Everything works as it should other than the fact that keychain in OS X doesn't seem to like my windows username and constantly asks for the username and password when mounting the drive. I think part of the problem is that my windows desktop is set up to use the windows live e-mail address as the username, causing keychain to drop everything after and including the @ sign in the username@live.ca username.

Is there a way around this in OS X? Or is there a way to revert back to an actual username on windows instead of the windows live e-mail address and still function the same way on the windows end?

So keychain wont save your windows username & password?

Essentially yes. It saves the first half of the @live.ca... so if the username is spaynton@live.ca it would only keep "spaynton". So if I add the network drive as a login item it prompts me for both the username and password.
