Why everybody loves SSD Crucial MX100 series ?

Crucial MX100's are popular for their price/GB. Their performance is middle of the road, but performance differences between SSDs aren't that dramatic in real-world workloads anyway. Given the price differences between an MX100 and, say, a Samsung 850, I think its worth more to have the biggest drive you can afford rather than the fastest.

How so?

 

Intel's end-to-end protection uses error correcting code (checksumming) when data is written to and read from the drive. Crucial does not have that.

Well, apperently it does.

Actually, if you think about it, it would be a pretty badly designed ssd, if it wouldn't do any checksumming when writting and reading data  given the amount of errors flash usually produces. :)

Where is that coming from? I don't see it listed on Crucial's website.

Buch of webstores (including amazon) are reffering to this feature.

Yes, 730 has true powerloss protection (it s hould, since its based off their enterprise line) while 5xx and 3xx have absolutly none (mx100 atleast has partial powerloss). And one cant really compare 730 against mx100, since the latter is almsot 2x cheaper.

so best choice is Crucial mx100 512GB ?

 

 

Or maybe m550 series but 256gb

 

Yes, either one will be a good choice, and more storage is always nice.
