Inverted cases

Hi every one,

I'm wondering on something for a while now. But can't find a real anwser to my questions. For a couple of years now I have a inverted case. For my new build I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Bu I want anwsers on my questions before I do that.

  • Is it "save" to invert the motherboard. Isn't it bad that hot are form the CPU goes the wrong way?
  • Is it better for cooling. The hottest part, GPU, will be moved to the top so hot are can escape easier without flowing into the case
  • Do I have to change the airflow compared to the normal way of building? Hot air still goes up.

I hope anyone can help me with this question.

Best,

Xero

  • Yes, it is "save"

Not really, it doesn't matter to be honest. As long as it works, it's fine, maybe by 2 degrees or something negligible like that.

If it's by 90 degrees, then fans pointing up is a start.

Compatible with Windows 95

Most hardware isn't affected by angles. And in a fully inverted case the air is still going the same way. Everything is just upside down. In a rotated case all the air just goes up, which is good.

In an inverted case, the affect would be fairly minimal. Rotated would still have a minimal effect, but ambient case temp might be better.

Inverted, the airflow stays the same. Rotated, everything just goes up as it wants to.
