Nexus 5 Vibration Motor

Greggers

If you've ever taken a N5 apart you can easily see why some users get problems with the motor not working. Instead of attaching the motor to the contacts on the PCB they've instead glued it to the back of the back cover and it's in a position where the contacts touch the other contacts on the PCB, kinda like how the replacement QI covers work on the Samsung devices, problem is when it doesn't. A little rattle can cause it to shake loose and this leaves a small gap that you can then close by tapping it or pushing down on the spot but this is not feasible if it's in your pocket and you end up missing calls. So I plan on taking it out and sticking something under the vibration motor to make the gap smaller and force the contacts to touch but my question, what material should I use that won't overheat, any type of glue I should use that won't melt?

there is special double tape from 3m for that use.

I would use this kind of dopplesided tape: http://www.amazon.com/YUYIKES-Adhesive-Digitizer-Supersonic-Incredible/dp/B004WIQW3U

Also I will ask a phone repair guy,

Intel 4790k | Asus Z97 Maximus VII Impact | Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16 GB 1866Mhz | Asus Strix GTX 980 | CoolerMaster G550 |Samsung Evo 250GB | Synology DS215j (NAS) | Logitech G502 |

Personally I use a Wire Glue (conductive glue) for doing quick PC repairs that need a solder. Holds up great

Nah I've taken phones apart before so I'm not worried about breaking anything, thanks for the suggestion I just have to find somewhere in the UK that sells it :P

I never really thought about that, I could just dab a blob of that on the bottom of the model to force a contact. Cheers!
