It looks like all 6 Sata are controlled by Intel: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/Z87-A/E7828_Z87-A.pdf (See page 6)

 

Will there been any down side, if I set up a Raid 0 with my motherboard? I was thinking of combining two Samsung 840 Evo 250GB into one 500GB.
