The what Solid Monster!?

VerticalDiscussions

Hello everyone, so in my quest for a new solid state drive (850 Pro yet to come -.-) i just spotted an extra solid state (if its available for purchase, gotta check yet) and i got surprised with the specifications ! I totally agree with whoever says G.Skill isnt great with solid state solutions, but they seem to just have exploded into the market with these specifications (Looks like the Titan Z when announced) (And was something else....) But what do you guys think of this "Super fast solid state"? If its reliable and such. Obviously Samsung 850 Pro beats this one in most aspects, but can it compete with the suposed swiftness of this ssd? It would never reach those numbers (Obviously) but would it be really really fast compared to what we have now(Ocz Vertex,Corsair GTX,etc)? Is it worth buying over the epic 850? If it is share your comments and ideas. Thank you all ^^.

Ok. This isn't an ssd. It's a card I think. It's using 2 bonded PCI Express lanes to get that thruput. It looks like something that's for a server or workstation. OCZ and Plextor have similar offerings. Not cheap.

Do you have a link?

Yep. Just like I suspected. It's the equivalent of 4 x 128gb RAINed to get you that awesome speed. The biggest thing, after the cost, is that most desktops won't use the speed. It's overkill.
