Bit of an odd Request

MPX309

Ok so my 250gb OS SSD is getting abit full . . . I say full there's about 70gb left on it, but I was wondering if this would be possible. . . Transfering it to the same model SSD but a 500gb one, and then using the 250 for just a few games, like BF4 and urm, well just BF4 really.

How would I go about erasing the OS data off the 250gb one though?

Use something like the Samsung magician and then just secure erase your drive.

Just transfer the data to the new SSD, Wipe the old SSD, and then transfer over the games and set up a new Origin/steam library on that drive

its possible to transfer the data to another ssd. first. go in your bios and set the 500gb ssd as first boot device. then use any parition software to copy the 250gb partition on the 500gb drive. (be sure to make a backup as you may. and probably will have to format your drive.) then format your 250gb one and you should be all set :D

EDIT: I find this one quite easy to use http://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/partition-copy-software.html

If your data is transferred you can easily delete all old data on your 250GB SSD. Just connect it to your system and format it (Windows has a tool for this)

Just transfer the data to the new SSD, Wipe the old SSD, and then transfer over the games and set up a new Origin/steam library on that drive

Origin can only be on your OS drive... Which sucks...

Not true, Origin the Program does, but you can install a game to another hard drive, when you install a game you have to manually go into origin and tell it to use that folder before you download the game

No I'm using all my games on a seagate drive atm. . . but all I wanted to do was to switch the OS to  500gb SSD and using the 250gb SSD for BF4 and any future games which I would play alot. . . I haven't been doing alot of gaming recently.

Was just wondering how easy it is to erase an SSD.

thanks guys.

in settings in origins you can set where the game folder is located, you can set it to any folder on any hard drive

So you set the library to D:\Origin or something and install your game there

If you want to install a game to your C:  you have to go and change it back to C:\program files\user\origin etc etc - it only takes 5 seconds once you have set up the libraries as it remembers them

Easy

Urm you can just set a directory to save the games to off the OS drive. . . It's no more difficult to do than Steam, of course games which are already installed may have to be re-downloaded/installed. . . anything which uses cloud storage for saved data remains intact though.

I tried that before, and it wouldn't let me put it on another drive... :'(

You have to change the setting BEFORE you download the game, you cannot change it later, and you have to change it each time you want to change where the game is installed

Just make a folder on your second drive called OriginGames or sometihng.. and then browse to that folder and tell origin that is where your games are installed

Download and install a game

Change it back to your C: origin folder, and thats it you are done
