NVIDIA finally comes out with 5 monitor supported Surround Vision! (1x5, 5x1 Nvidia Surround Vision)

New driver is out all. 344.11 WHQL

I really do not know what to make of this guys.

As a preface, The M3D550SL is a 3Dtv mounted off to the left of my multi-monitor setup. So for me to keep it like this would not be plausible for gaming because of my head being way off center, from the now 4 screens.

If it turns out that this does work I would probably have to use a HDMI-DVI adapter because my 5th monitor which is in portrait (flipped) only has a DVI port.

I like this new interface that Nvidia has come up with for selecting the settings to use when Enabling Surround Vision. You can select all of your settings in one fell swoop.

They could make it a little prettier but hey, it's a start right?

So.....

Does this mean we can now game with 5 monitor Surround Vision?

Time to find out! :applaud:

I am going to try a game out right now to test 5 monitor Surround Vision!

Me thinks Just Cause 2 will be a good start. It's not too intensive on the GPU's and it will be a fun one to test this out on, seeing as it is a single player game. :D

This has got to be legit y'all. 5x1 Nvidia Surround Vision. This isn't a fluke, and it isn't a glitch. Can't be.

That's awesome for people who use that many monitors. I personally don't really care too much since I only use 2 monitors. It's cool that they didn't restrict this feature to the next generation of cards.

dude thats 10 million pixels what do you even drive that thing with and furthermore what good are all those monitors if you can only play old or light games on it? i personally wouldnt get 5 freaking screens only to realize ican now play flappy bird or command and conquer red alert 2 in 5k.

Neat but IDK if its all that useful.

Maybe I could see it for a flight sim or racing sim, but for an FPS game I would definately get sick lol.

Plus the GPU power you would need to drive that is just crazy.

AMD has support for 6. GG nVIDIA. Still going to stay with AMD.

I thought AMD had 6 monitor support but only 5 in eyefinity, I admit that it has been a few gpu generations since I have owned an AMD gpu so I could be basing this on outdated information.

You can do for example dual stacked eyefinity in a 3x2 formation of screens. Or 5 screens landscape or portrait. Whatever you want. AMD is much more flexible.

I think they should bother to fix 3 monitor surround before they move to 5. This is a slap in the face to all of us nvidia surround customers who are stuck on a driver from a year ago (327.23) when they broke nvidia surround. That is when they disabled the ability to override your monitors EDID. If your monitors are not 100% identical, not just make and model, also when it was produced, your resolution will be limited to 5040 x 1050 (vice 5760x1080). This problem is all over nvidia's forum and they continue to bury there heads in the sand and ignore it. So dear god i hope all five of your monitors are exactly the same (throw out all your current ones and start over) cause you sure cant buy additional slighly different monitors to get you to the 5 total monitors needed for this setup.
