Should I buy it now or wait for black friday?

Campfirecrucifix

Alright so here is my build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tf2m7P

I want to know if I should buy this PSU that is on sale right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-platinum1200ss120

+ 15% off w/ promo code EMCWPHW82, ends 10/24 and $20.00 mail-in rebate  which is $209.50 after rebate OR should I wait for Black Friday and hope that it is lower at microcenter or something.

I'm not American, but I've heard some pretty crazy stuff about Black Friday - so I'd say to wait.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I would say buy now. Black friday is usually just items they want to sell. One of the best PSU's on the market is not one of those items.

I will not be using those GPU's. I need to wait till the next lineup of GPU's come out. Also not all the components are on there (such as the water pump) and I will be overclocking a lot so I will be needing that extra space.

True, I will probably buy it now and if it is lower on black Friday then I will return it.

I just don't want to risk the PSU not being on sale on black friday is all.

Power supplies are generally most efficient at 50% load. There's no reason not to go for more power if the money isn't a huge issue to you.

Also, as stated, overclocking requires a lot more wattage.

What do you mean by next line?

If you're referring to Pascal, you can't use your motherboard with them.

I agree though, 1200w would be a much safer bet.

What do you mean I won't be able to use pascal on my mobo? Isn't it backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0?

I believe it'll use it's own connector. PCIe isn't fast enough.

So basicly buy all my components except the mobo? Will x99 mobo's come with that connector in the future?

When are you building your computer?

If it's that far in the future you shouldn't buy anything now. Wait and buy it all at the same time.

I buy stuff when I see it is on sale. For instance I just bought 17 noctua professional 3000 PWM fans that were on sale for $16.99 instead of the $27.99 price.

Sales happen often. Chances are those will be on sale again.

If you're really not building until Pascal is out, then there's absolutely no point in buying most things now. RAM will drop in price quite a bit by then. The CPU, you can get the newest SkyLake.

SSD's will likely drop massively in price.

There's no need to buy a power supply yet, since we don't know the exact requirements for the new cards. They're said to use about 1/3 of the power.

Cases. Well, that you could get. But what if one comes out that you love a lot more?

The fans were probably a decent choice, I have no idea why you'd buy 17 though. What if they don't fit your case?

Sounds good. I will just buy the case for now then.

Also believe me I will be needing 17.
