Why is it easier to get a thin bezel TV, than a monitor?

LarsReviews

I mean look at those bezels, that would be a 3 way Monitor dream. Why do many monitors don't have thin bezels like this? Price can't be a argument, because this TV is fairly cheap.

I couldn't agree more with you... bulky bezels are pure ugly and distracting.

The other day at McDonals I saw the most beautiful 5 monitor surround. 5 30-something inch monitors. Almost invisible bezel. I thought they were just images stuck on the wall until they moved. It was amazing.

If I were to guess, the bezel was probably around 2-3mm thick on all 4 sides!

I have been looking for a monitor the past weeks and this something that was annoying me the whole time. There was no monitor that could compete with the bezel size of a TV.

What model TV is that? Does the image truly go all the way to the edge like that, or is it just a marketing image?

I ask, because this is a marketing image for my TV (LG 47LM670T)...

xl_LG_47LM670S_lead_624-2.jpg

And this is the reality...

$_57.JPG

It's like some sort of internal bezel, with the glass over the top. Very misleading if I had bought it based on the first images, and plenty of others like it.

because what sells more, monitors or tvs, what costs more.

plus for the most part tvs have more room in the back for components

plus the ratio, a 22" monitor that has 5mm bezels seems alot bigger than a 50" tv with 5mm bezels

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

That one is just a marketing image, but I was at a store on the weekend and there was this one from Samsung and it had real thin bezels, like this image shows. (LG are faking bastards :D)

The fake LG pictures are a big problem. The next time I am at the store I will take a pic of the Samsung one.

Because TV's are bigger allowing more room for component's

I dunno I've seen some TVs that were under 30 inches with some pretty thin bezels and they even had digital TV decoders built in to them.

Check out the Dell U2414H. I use three in surround, great experience. IPS panel and as far as I know the thinnest bezel on the monitor market.

  • 7 months later...

This post seems very old, but im looking to do a triple 1080 setup by the end of the year. Is there any disadvantage to using 3tvs (im never planning above 50fps) for example do they have max frame rates or anything. Because they seem to be able to handle bluerays at 1080p

The main problem is i hate bezels, and tvs seem to have the least of them. And all i need is a HDMI.
so the real question, is there a disadvantage to simply using three tv`s such as :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-UE22H5000AK-Widescreen-discontinued-manufacturer/dp/B00K7YGDPK

Also im trying to keep it below £140 per display as i need something left for the gpu to run this lol
