Safe temps to run all night?

I just got into Folding today and at Full speed for about an hour, my CPU temp is 66C. Is that a safe temp to run at all night or just I bring it down to medium or slow speed for the night? Also, how much would a 212 evo help out? Would it be worth it to buy one?

Yeah 66c is fine to fold at full speed.

 

Getting a 212 Evo would probably drop that temperature by a good amount and will make it much more quieter.

For AMD CPUs the maximum safe temperature is 62 degrees, so you're pushing the limit.

I would not continue folding until you can afford a better CPU cooler, because you're going to damage your CPU leaving it on 24/7 at those temps.

the closest microcentre to me is over 2000 miles away.

It's not running 24/7 exactly. It takes a couple of hours breaks. But it is running non- stop for about 7-9 hours while I'm sleeping.

Unless you are doing some intense overclocking that will only last a couple minutes, don't let your AMD CPU exceed 62C.

AMD CPUs should hit a maximum of 62 degrees

For intel you can go to 85-90C before it starts throttling. Damage begins to happen past 90C. Maximum temperature is 105C.

From my understandings, it is hosted by Standard Medical School and they basically use your computers hardware for their purposes. They send your computer a "task" to do and then when said task is complete, you send it back to them for them to study and then they send you another.

It varies depending on the Work Unit. Some only raise mine to 40C, some to 70+.

AMd's can get to easy like 80 degrees they are build for that other way Nvidia is bad for 75 degrees plus the R9 2902X was even build to run @95 degrees

We are talking about CPUs here. And for AMD the maximum safe temperature is 62 degrees C.

 

Yes I know their graphics cards can get to 95C easily, but a graphics card is very different from a CPU.

I'm using a 212 Evo with my 3770k when folding and I hit around 63 degrees C with the air conditioner turned down to 21 C. My GPU hits around 60. With the air con turned off, I hit around 70 on the CPU and 70 on the GPU. I'm not sure about other cultures, but here in India, we turn on the air con when sleeping so I personally feel its safer to run it at night since the ambient temps are lower.
