Would it be wise...

KingKeith55

Would it be wise if I sold my R9 270, (im also probably selling my shitty 500$ laptop for like 300$, I really dont need it anymore and its collecting dust)

and used that and some money I have saved to buy a GTX 970?

The 970 Looks like a really really good option, because of its price to performance. Do you think this would be a good idea if I did this? With 4k becoming a big thing I might want to have some more power under the hood.

What is your opinion on this?

This is how I get most of my stuff.

Find buyers for my old card, and then use that money to buy new stuff.

Yea. The 970 is a great card. Or, we could wait for the 960.

what is the rest of your build you could also get a second 270 if you are crossfire capable

The 970 would be better than an xfire 270

well of course but its less than half the price

Selling his laptop for $300 literally has him 3/4th's of the way there he just needs to sell the 270 and he's good.

Do you really need that extra performance first? If not then don't sell it, just sell your laptop and use the money on something else.

If you're thinking of eventually going 4K or 1080p surround then definitely get the 970.

Also would a FX-6300 Bottleneck performance? I will probably buy a CPU cooler too (Hyper 212 Evo, not even hard to decide that)

So il probably OC it a little.
