Amazon Fire TV Android HTPC

ChrisxIxCross

If anyone has been looking for a cheap HTPC solution then picking up an Amazon Fire TV is the way to go. You can put any app from the play store you want on it by side loading apps with developer mode.

The apps on the site above have built in support for the fire tv remote but you can put any app friom the play store you like no problem all you need is the apk file and you're good to go. They will not be able to be controlled by the included remote, however you can use any logitech mouse/kb you want and they will work natively no problem. All you have to do is pair the kb/mouse to the unifying dongle on a pc, plug the dongle into the usb port on the Fire TV and you're done. Boom you now have an amazing media hub/htpc for a little over 100$!

I personally have HBO GO, Chrome, Firefox w/ flash player support installed and everything works flawlessly I couldn't be any happier. :)

I have a Samsumg Home Theatre system and it does the job, I have seen reviews of the Fire TV and it has not impressed me one bit.

Cry Havoc!
