Anyone here used Apple's financing thing?

flibberdipper

Title describes most of my question. Reason being, if my grandma or I were to get a Mac Mini coming out to $728 USD, it would fall into the 12-month financing category. So... How much would have to be paid per month? Her credit is in good standing (probably a 600 or higher, if my guess is correct), so there's that. More info on their financing can be seen here. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/finance/instant_credit

To avoid interest at 12 months = Price divided by 12 so about $61

23% apr on 12 months if just minimum payment would be $99 in taxes, 24% would be about $103 and 25% would be about $107.

This would be considered an Apple credit card and VERY much NOT worth it

I would assume that you just divide the total cost of the Mac Mini by the number of months. $728/12 months = ~$61 a month. That's what I did with my Nexus 5, it costs $450 (T-Mobile jacked up price :P), and I have a pay plan for 2 years, so I pay $17 a month. I still technically own my phone yet, since I've only owned it for one year.

AVOID THIS! Look at the APR 22.99% or 26.99 % That is like using a credit card. This is why poor people pay $4000 for a $1500 couch... In other wards you will pay a lot more than the item is worth. These are the types of things that partially led to 2008.

This is why you save up for things. You'll save money if you just put that $80 in the bank every month until you have enough to buy the computer in one shot.

It is no better or worse than any other branded CC.  Pay it off within the promotional period and it is a good deal.   Go past that and you are going to be paying a lot more.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

I actually signed up for finance just to try it and was declined by myself and with a cosigner. Weirdly, I signed up for newegg and got instant approved for 2K.

there may also be a financing fee on top of the interest,  best buy charges like $200 to finance something in addition to interest.

The company providing the credit is Barclay's.
