212 EVO air cooling on AMD CPU

Hello,

I wanted to ask if a 212 evo air cooler would fit on my Asrock 960GM/U3S3 FX motherboard (with a AMD FX-6100 6x3.3Ghz processor) in a NZXT H440 case

I have another case but the 212 won't fit.... If I would buy a NZXT case, will I be able to fit it in ??

I really need one 'cause my processor is just overheating too much.

Thanks in advance

Dont buy a new case just to get a 40$ cooler to fit. Find a smaller one. Buy the Noctua low profile. LTT had a video on one.

There you go. Why are you buying a new case? If only for the cooler, it is not worth it.

Actually my rig is not very good

(here it is: http://www.amazon.fr/Sedatech-Centrale-FX-6100-6x3-3Ghz-CardReader/dp/B005FWVRVY/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1413805614&sr=8-23&keywords=sedatech )

but I also don't have the money to buy a new setup, but because my birthday's coming up I will be able to afford just the case (and the cooler)

also my rig is overheating a lot (even while running Mass Effect 1) so I'm trying to get the temperature down the most I can, 'cause I think it's throttling

So I thought why not a new case (in which I will be able to install my future rig), ad having the place for a 212 cooler

A lot more cooler. Watch the video. And cheaper than a H440. Get a SSD with the rest.

I looked it up and I'm afraid the dimensions are to big for my case... the PSU is in the way,

What temps are you hitting?

70°C when playing old games on my GPU

and 60°C on my CPU, maybe that looks like not much, but when my CPU hits over 60°C it begins making extreme noise, even the whole case is trembling...

Does it have any fans? You might be able to slip off the hook by installing one.

It has 2 big side fans and one in the front, but hey don't change speeds :/ and OC tuner says that they're both not turning ....

Well do they turn? and your ambient temps would be appreciated. For the record. I think the Noctua will fit nicely. See in the video they have a mITX board and it does not come up to the top.

they do turn, but when the computer gets hot, they don't go faster, and I think they're taking in air

also as you can see on the pic there is no fan on the back, but I'm trying to install one that will blow out the hot air

my ambient temps is around 23°C

ok thanks for the help :) I'll see if I buy the noctua cooler, or If I'll buy the case (which will allow me to buy a good setup when I'll be able)

You could always buy an AiO water cooler, if the rear fan slot is 120mm. Like the h80 or a Seidon 120V.
