1000-1200 $ Ultrabook

Rekx

So im looking to get a Ultrabook for studies. My budget is arround 1000-1200$ (8500kr) I will game on it, though nothing special, counter strike go would properly be most demanding game i'll play. The reason behind getting a ultrabook, is that i want something which is light, has ssd and i5 as minimum. I have already been looking at the yoga 2 and the zenbook series. Both look really nice, though i can't seem to decide. From my perspective they all go on compromise some where.

Would be nice, though it's way to expsensive in Denmark. In Denmark the price is 1800$+. Maybe i should have given a budget which consider this. 2 sec then :-)

Nope the 1800 dollars plus is the "cheapest" model i can find. Which doesn't say much, because only one store in Denmark sells samsung laptops (other than chromebooks)

And before you ask, yes they have a good rep. Especialy their support should be superb. I can't seem to find anything in that price range which can compete.

I know how you feel about the prices. I'm studying in Norway (from Australia) and needed a new computer and was shocked at the prices.

Anyway there are some options I found from a Norwegian site, the prices are in NOK but they are about equivalent your DKK budget:

Lenovo: i7, 8GB, GTX 860M, 256GB SSD

https://www.komplett.no/lenovo-ideapad-y50-70-156-full-hd/824480

MSI: i7, 8GB, GTX 850M, 128GB SSD

https://www.komplett.no/msi-gp60-156-full-hd/816409

or cheaper: MSI:  i7, 8GB, GTX 850M, 750GB HDD

Good luck :)

Get a rMBP of you can, it is light, portable, long-lasting and has enough power to play CS:GO on 1680x1050 and mid-to-high settings with locked down 60 fps (70 if VSync off, on Windows of course.)

DONT BUY A LAPTOP WITH DEDICATED GRAPHICS CHIP IF YOU CARE ABOUT BATTERY LIFE.

Else there are some XPS laptops or that VAIO Pro 13 is also pretty good.

My PC: Intel Core i3-3220 | Alpenföhn Civetta | XFX HD 7770 1GB | ASRock B75-Pro3-M | Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB | beQuiet PurePower L8 430W | Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB | Kingston V200+ 60GB | NZXT Vulcan | Soundblaster Play Replaced by Notebook + eGPU

My Notebook:   Apple MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch, Late 2013; Core i5 4258U @2.4-2.9 Ghz, 8GB RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, Iris Graphics 5100 + GTX 960 eGPU

My Phone: OnePlus One with CM12      Camera: Nikon D3200 + 50mm f/1.8G + Kit lenses

Honestly I'd shell out a bit more and get the Broadwell powered Lenovo Yoga 3.

I have a Macbook that I installed window onto. If you are considering a Macbook at all look that the referbished ones on the apple website. They are still expensive but cheaper than a brand new one (comes with a year warranty and other standard stuff).

The hardware is kinda weak for Windows. I dont wanna be stuck with 4gb of ram.

That's fair enough. I just happen to get a really good deal when I bought mine. I was cheaper than anything else on the market at that price. I had to watch for a few days because it seems to alway change.

There is the option to install Windows if you like.

But as i said to @Yawier the macbook air in that price bracket only have 4gb of ram, which is properly fine for osx, but as a windows user which has tried running 4gb before, there is no going back to 4gb.
