ASUS and Gibabyte sli?

AlexCom

Hello!

This is a bit of a stupid question.. but I want to be 100% sure on it.

I have a 980 from Gibabyte, and I want to get another one, but I`ve waited some time and it doesn`t seem to get on stock anytime soon... can I combine it with a ASUS version?

Thank you and have a nice day,

Alex

That's fine, although unless they're both the reference version it will look a bit funny :P

EDIT: Also they will both run at the lowest clock of the two cards. So if you aren't overclocking then that will be the lower stock speed of the two cards you have, or if you are then it will be at whatever overclock the weaker card can handle.

Yes

But I suggest placing the Gibabyte card under the ASUS one because of airflow
