ASUS G751 Gaming Notebook

Without seeing the video my guess is this:

They put in a 970/980M or something along those lines and they marginally improved cooling/touchpad. Those are my guesses

i would be a little more generous and say possibly a slightly better panel on the screen

probably marginally thinner as well

Put in a Maxwell GPU, with some tweaks here and there.

Agree on the panel, that's also a possibility. Don't think it is thinner though

Stop the embargoes for the love of God :'(

That way I'd be able to go back to getting the first comment on the videos :P

Still, would like to see how it performs and there is always the problem with cooling with laptops, so I'm interested to see how the re-visioned G750 does.

@nicklmg

If i may ask, what's up with the releasing at 4 AM?

Is it for international purposes (doubt it, viewer base seems mostly North American), or are companies forcing this on you guys?

It will be an embargo. Same with how all all of tech youtubers' 980 videos came out at about the same time.

Well, @nicklmg could post the videos once it's actually publicly available. Because this is just a bit ridiculous TBH.

Subquality video than usual imo

Talking about the back of the display and the ports, without showing any b-roll of it while talking about it. Video seems a bit rushed imo

Good notebook though, which is nice

Hey there. You are looking mighty fine today, have my virtual cookie!

I agree with the lack of quality.

It's hard to tell between intentional or a mistake, so I thought I'll just leave this here for reference incase was the latter:

1:37~2:00 Physical description of the laptop, no b-rolls.

2:23~2:47 Ports and IO description, no b-rolls.

6:17~6:25 Why on earth is the graph zooming in and out as if I'm on acid

6:36~6:40 Acid trip again

7:16~7:27 random gpu performance graph. Nothing to do with battery boost. I think previous graph should be here.

I hope this is not a lazy work. I believe basic, important things should be the priority before extra spicing(stuffs like 'eye m&m :o').

When your notebook is the size of an all in one, it might be time to stop calling it a notebook. Until I can carry one of these around every day, I won't care.

@nicklmg is there a review coming of the Aorus X7 Pro you guys tested against the G751 coming soon?

I wanted to buy a gaming laptop, because I have to travel a lot since I got my new job. But it seems like they're launching a new and better one every month.

I guess this is how the tech-market works.

I actually had the Razer Blade in mind, but this looks pretty good. Have to get more infos now

Seems to be a little lower quality than usual, there was a lack of broll and a missing annotation. Still a decent video overall, told me everything I need to know but I have no idea what the back of this laptop with red fan exhaust and "shield around the ASUS logo."

Bah, I got my G750 (which only has GTX 765m) not too long ago and then this comes out...
I prefer the look of the G750 but I do want the hardware inside the G751. Oh well...technology is constantly upgrading/changing. I can't keep up with it all the time.

You can really notice that some of the team is on their holidays.
The video lacks B-Roll footage when Linus talks about connectors.
It really shows how good the quality normally is :)

Even if this laptop is overpriced, for my budget, does it is veery awesome, I think I'll be ok, without a laptop for some months. ;)

I wish that laptops would come in MSI GS60/70 Ghost sizes, but without the $1600 price tag. Having a large desktop, something mobile that can game lightly is nice to have. Currently have an Alienware M11x from ~2010ish, great tiny laptop but still bulky. I like the sleek design of the MSI Ghost laptop but dislike the price. Asus on the other hand is cool looking, powerful but not mobile enough for me.
