Hey guys, so the few of you who still play BF4, how do you get rid of this crash? Is it a game or hardware fault?

Screenshot attached bellow:

i7 5960x (OC Genie Auto OC to 3.7Ghz)

16GB DDR4-2133Mhz

GTX 780ti OC by Gigabyte (No OC yet)

Running an Asus 1080p 144Hz monitor (24 inch)

This doesnt happen in any other game that I have ran on this rig?

Its been some time since i played battlefield 4 but i remember it being a really common crash at launch regardless of hardware and oc's being used. Having noticed you used oc genie for your cpu try resetting it to stock and give it a go for a bit to see what happens.

I checked and its the same, its not the cpu, and it happens after 1 hr of straight play.

I did a quick search out of curiosity, Unfortunately the only thing i was able to turn up was faulty gpu's and or unstable overclocks. Since no other games seem to have issues with your system and your gpu is not running an oc logically that narrows it down to the game having a problem. Have you tried running something like unigine heaven or valley for a few hours? if you see any kind of artifacting or anomalies in the clock speeds, voltages etc its may be possible that the card is indeed faulty with bf4 being the only game to actually make that flaw an issue. If you happen to own crysis 2/3 (preferably 3 as it seems to be a little harsher in terms of picking out flaws) or one of the metro games i would suggest giving those a good few hours of play. If everything seems solid in those then i cant imagine it being anything but bf4 itself.

Don't own the games, but can get them. I mean GPU temperature are around 55-60 degree during bf4, so I don't think its thermal throttling?

No, Throttle point on 600 series, 700 series and probably 900 series as well (cant confirm as my 980's havent arrived yet) is 70 degrees for the first throttle point and 80 degrees for the second throttle point. Even if you hit that temperature in game which unless you live in a dessert with no ac or are running sli is not easy to pull off, The game would/should not crash. If your going to acquire a game for the purpose of testing i would prioritize crysis 3, It is extremely good at picking out instabilities and faults usually within minutes of starting it up.

Here are the benchmarks,

temps seem to be hitting 81 deg C in my H440 :/ Cpu temps are fine :)

Do not rely on BF games to gauge your rig's stability. Go for benchmarks instead. Unigine or 3DMark.

I had over 300 crashes in event log, since I installed it a year ago, all due to BF4.

If there is anything wrong with your setup, benchmarks and overclocks will expose it.

Your rig is fine. I constantly see people post about exotic crashes with BF4.

I've seen some post that if you increase the virtual memory amount, it takes longer for the game to crash.

I've seen this message before... its about unstable drivers. Roll few versions back or get newest beta. That has solved it for me and few others in past.

Yeah i need it do that, 3Dmark crashed at the sky diver with this error found in the picture. And firestrike wouldn't load, driver crashed....

So should I re install the driver or get the older one?

Go with an older driver and go to bed knowing that you have a very fine rig that people envy and hate you for  :)

So, I just re installed current drivers. Fire strke works now. In test 1 and 2 i noticed distortions, like green lines and stuff. Also the sky driver crashes again, crashes just as it hits 199 fps, has the same screen distortions

Here are the scores, I am going to sleep as its 4 am and I need to be at a project meeting at 8:30am, but yeah if there is any problem, let a brother now :)

Try turning down the detail in BF4.  That error used to happen all the time when I played on Ultra, knocked the graphics down to high and haven't had it since

Alright but if I paid for a high end card, I want full use. I notice that sky diver 3D mark crashes with the same error. I havent tried old drivers, but Firestrike runs with new drivers. It's wierd cause the borderland the pre sequel runs fine.

I think it has something to do with BF4 as it's the only game that has this issue.

And I agree about having a high end card.

Hmm yeah it seems to be bf4, but the fact that I crash on 3Dmark Sky Diver kind of worries me since the card is only manufacture Oc and I didn't do anything to it. It's probably drivers . Idk

Okay, my CAM software said at one point last night, my gpu fan read 0RPM, that makes no sense, i clearly remember HW and Afterburner saying fans were spinning and if they werent temps would shoot up, it didint :/

Edit: Ran fire strike with hwmonitor open, GPU fans are spinning fine

Alright, so does anybody know why I get device hung on a 3dmark sky diver test but i run through firestrike flawlessly?

Is it still a bad driver?
