so me and a friend decided to see how much stuff about each other just from the internet sourcing from one email gmail automatically give you their name at first I tried to track his IP from the email which gave me the City Country etc. it was a work email so I opened the work site and got last name. searched up first and last name as well as city and I got EVERYTHING family members vehicles kids (its an older friend) birth date, date of graduation and where from, jobs etc then we got scared of the internet.

tracing the IP was a waste of time since I could have gotten rough area from job site

what did I learn nothing with the proof that I still have my LTT account

What you did is known as "doxing" there is no corner of the internet that you are safe from it including here on LTT (e.g. mod_rewrite to work around attaching shells to IPB).

 

I have background where I've done ethical hacking.

I only provide my personal information on Facebook, where sure it gets shared to third party investors. Tho the "hide profile from search engines" works wonders (I wasn't able to dox myself).

ohhh your information is out there thus why i only use my real name for legit things everyone else goes by my nick name but a quick search of my real name and you can find where i live in about .002 seconds. -.- thats just the world we live in now....
