Tf2 competitive scene

Sup peeps?!

I'm trying to get into a more competitive side of tf2 but i dont know much about it. I get what highlander and 6v6 is, i've done a few lobbies but i'm interested in actually learning tactics, rollout etc. I have about 1400 hours ingame and play mainly solly. Europeen region if possible for ping related reasons.

Let me know if you are willing to give me a hand!

Thanks!

Got a mic, skills arent bad, but im talking about real competitive. Not just hopping on to a lobby and shooting stuff. I'd like a true team to work with with organised tactics.

  1. Get some frag vid music. (You'll need this later)

Get a sweet ass strange rocket launcher with Med Drops as a part.

Learn the rollout of every map.  A slow roamer is a dead roamer.

Get gud with the rocket launcher.  You don't have a shotgun or medic to bail you out like those coward pockets do.

Pay attention to coms so you know when to chase somebody and when to blame your med for your death.

You're not a bomber, you're a precision strike aircraft.  Know when to go in for that sweet med pick and when you're needed defending the homefront.

Learn medkit locations.

If you're not top damage you're doing it wrong.

Cap points if your scouts are busy chasing that 15 hp medic.

Strive for a sick airshot at least once a game.

Handpick your best kills and make a 2 min frag video from 500 hours of game time.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Youtube videos could be a good source. Haven't watched any, so can't recommend anything, though.

And if you plan on roaming, practicing speed pogoing could prove useful. Though I'm not that much into competitive side of things, so don't know how much should you pogo around (half a year back when I still played TF2 I was just a filthy pub casual. Speed pogoing is definitely useful in pubs, could be in comp too. Just watch your health.)

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I'm a touch late to the topic ;)

But I suggest that ya get on some jump maps and get really damn good at rocket jumping before you try doing roll outs, it'll help you a ton and once you get good at it you'll be able to more or less go anywhere on the map xD.

Also keep in mind your main job is kill dat medic. Other than that play some MGE, it'll help a ton in the 1v1 situations you find yourself in all the time as soldier.

Good luck xD
