For the M50? i don't think it's very worth it. Anything can power those headphones pretty decently.

You don't need an amp. Plus, lugging around an extra amp for mobile use is a pain.

i dont mind carrying an extra amp if it means getting the best out of the ath m50. :) + i dont move around alot. soooo, will i gain anything from buying e11k? :D TY

No, you won't gain anything. If you have an itch to upgrade, upgrade your headphones first and that may or may not require an amp afterwards.

Sure. Here are some ideas (prices are for used sales on Amazon in USA):

-DT880 A semi-closed headphone with a balanced sound unlike the DT770/990s. $180

-Mad Dog - A close, planar magnetic headphone with a fun sound and a good value. $300.

-HE400 - An open, clunkier planar magnetic headphone alternative to the Mad Dog. $230

-HD600/650 - Both are open Sennheiser headphones. The HD600 is for people who want more treble and less bass, HD650 is the opposite. These should run $300-350 used on Amazon, but if they're asking for more, wait a month and you should find a better deal.

Sometimes you can find a better deal on Headfi, remember to use Paypal fees instead of gift if you do end up buying from there. For example, an HD650 is on sale there for $250. http://www.head-fi.org/t/738851/fs-sennheiser-hd650

Those four options likely could use some external amping.

For mobile use keep in mind that open headphones let outside sound in a bit more than closed headphones.

To put it simple: M50 is not sensitive enough to really benefit from different/better amping. Even if there are differences, most of the times, it won't be worth the money. I've said this in your thread before.

Now if you want to get the E11k, fine, why not? Just remember that you don't really need it. So you buy it because you want to, not because you need to.

Then learn how to use an EQ and use it. It's also free (money wise).
