Hi there,

So i'm shopping for a build in Australia, and just can't decide on the Case. Please vote for which case you would recommend for me, and if you would like, leave a comment explaning why, and perhaps order the cases from best (5), to worst (1).

Perhaps there's another case with a similar price that you would recommend?

The build
 · I5-4690, 970 G1 Gaming, Seagate 1TB, Samsung 840 250GB, Antec TruePower 750W.
Still deciding on the RAM, monitors, Motherboard, i don't think thats going to affect the decision, and i'm confident with deciding on those components)

These are my thoughts on each case:

Thermaltake Core V71 [http://bit.ly/1wSyJy4] (209 AUD)

• I glossed over this one at first (i got a terrible 750w PSU from them with my first build, left a bad impression)
• Good price
• All HDD drives can be removed. I'm only using a HDD and an SSD here, and they can go on the back.
• Fan Support: Front: 2x200mm Top: 2x200mm Rear: 140mm, Bottom: 2x120mm
• Rad Support: Front: 420mm, Top: 420mm, Rear: 120mm, Bottom: 240mm

Corsair Graphite 780T [http://bit.ly/1t0cXKQ] (259 AUD)

• Ok, so this is confusing. 780t costs less, but the model name (look M.N. generally suggests it's position ok, let's not get into that) suggests that it's better than the 760T.

• Fan Support: Front: 2x140mm, Top: 2x140mm, Rear: 140mm, Bottom: 2x120mm

• Rad Support: 2 x 360mm

Corsair Graphite 760T [http://bit.ly/1sTwDPm] (259 AUD)

• Fan Support: Front: 2x140, Top: 2x140, Rear: 140, Bottom: 120

Rad Support: Front: 240, Top: 240, Rear: 120, Bottom: 120

NZXT Phantom 820 Matter Black [http://bit.ly/1wmudK5] (269 AUD)

• Fan Support: Front: 200, Top: 200 Rear: 140 Side: 200

Thanks in advance!

Ok, spotted a vote for the 760t and 780t

Can anyone explain the difference between these two?

Ok thanks for clarifying. I think i prefer the 780t over the 760.

Never really liked the 750D that much. 900D had bad airflow.

Now the 760t is ahead. No one care to explain why?

Big window.

My vote goes enthoo luxe or ft05 if you can stretch to it

Hi,

Neither are available for me to purchase, only the ones mentioned above

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm looking into building a PC too and recently looked at the 780t, visual-wise I definitely prefer the 780t over the other cases, did some research and it shows that (atleast to my understanding) even though it was not designed for silence, at idle its fans run at around 30db (which equals to whispering volume i think). and its cooling capability and airflow seems to be pretty good imo. So personally I am planning on going for the 780t for my own build when I have the money. Im not sure if this helps but this is my opinion.

p.s feel free to correct me if I got any stats wrong :)

I think you're making a good choice in getting the 780t. What's the rest of your build?

Most of these are just temporary since I still have plenty of time before I get the parts but currently I'm going for:

CPU: i7-4970k

GPU: Gigabyte G1 970/980

Mobo: MSI Gaming 5

Ram: G.Skill Trident X 2133MHz

HDD: Seagate Barracude 2TB

SDD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB

PSU: EVGA superNOVA 750W G2

Still dont know about the monitors and peripherals though :)

oh and also, good luck with choosing your case if you haven't decided & built it yet. If you have, I'd love to hear what you chose and how you find it :)

That looks like a great build the 780t would work with that.

The only thing i can suggest is upgrading the ssd to a 250Gb variant so you can have a game or two on the SSD.

And i've checked the RAM support for your mobo, that exact model isn't listed as verified, but similar models are there (2133mhz support is there) so it should be fine.

As for my build, i haven't bought anything yet, but i'll probably be going for the 780t when i do.

Thanks :) I just hope the price for the 780t goes down a bit when we get around to buying and building it.

Good luck with your build :)
