Went 4K and won't ever go back!

Kyle2278

So after much delays I finally got my 24" 4K Dell monitor yesterday and it's amazing. Anyone on the verge of weather to go 4K or not DO IT!! I upgraded my GPU to a GTX980 so it could handle 4K and it handles it great for what I play, but I will SLI in future. Just for general use though 4K is awesome there have been times where I just need to stop and admire a graphic or little details in a photo that look so crisp and nice in 4K (it might also have something to do with being IPS). I went from a 120hz alienware 1080p monitor which I still have and the change has been amazing, highly recommend the upgrade.

I don't think I could either; even my previous 1440p monitor looks bloated and undefined now.

What's the refresh rate of your monitor? Please don't say 30hz...:(

Using my old monitor (which is now on my mums computer) was so much worse. I swear 2 days ago it never looked that bad, but this is just great the text in general web browsing and everything.

How's the scaling, a 24" 4K monitor seems like it'd be extremely difficult to read text on.

It is perfect the icons are the same size and text is same size as it was on 1080p you can change it all if you want. I am on windows 8.2 though

I can only imagine...text is extremely tiny at 100% scaling even on my 28" Asus.

This makes me happy.

Now all I have to do is cross my fingers they'll release a 34" 4k 21:9 monitor before Pascal comes out and I'll be a very happy camper!

Its something I have been considering a while, but I would need a second 780ti..which I cannot find a second twin frozr

so I would have to buy a 4k display and sli 980s... which is a taller order than just buying a display, this one might have to wait

(although 980 allows shadowplay to record 4k too.. which would be great for my recording)

I dunno if I want to go straight to 4k, or if I should move to 1440p....

I only have a single 780, but ready to pull the trigger on another.  Even a 2nd 780 is still not enough for U4k, which makes me hesitant.

Really... I doubt the majority of people can even afford a decent 4k setup. So tell me why is it very worth it to go 4k rather than 1440p?

The general clarity is amazing when doing everything from web browsing to editing photos. I can edit at closer to 1:1 ratios with more of the photo available at one time and have more room for applications. then in gaming there are no jaggies anywhere and it looks amazing.

Unless Asus makes a 4K G-sync,1ms and 100 Hz monitor,I am not going to 4k then.

Well, Asus was first to make a 1440p 144hz display, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd make a 4k 144hz monitor first
