Changing CS:GO music for free

babbaj

let's keep this simple

go into your sound\music folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\sound\music

then choose a sound pack you want to replace(make sure you back up)

now find some .mp3 files you like and replace the old ones and keep the same name

if you're files are too long or too short you can edit the end time in the game_sounds_music.txt file

p.s. it looks like you can do some fun stuff with the game_sounds_music.txt file

EDIT: The sample rate has to be changed to 44100, this can easily be done in audacity

Before I've seen it stated that changing of the sound files may be flagged by VAC and not allow you to play on official servers.

Your only concerns about VAC are I'd you're messing with the core game files or the .DLL files. Changing music won't do anything. Though I would recommend utilizing a custom folder if it's possible.

Why not just turn the music off? It's what I do.

What do they know of England, who only England know?
