Thoughts on Silverstone FT05

I'm thinking about getting the FT05 when I upgrade my case.  Has anyone purchased one?  They are not available in the USA yet, but I think that they are in Australia.  What are people's thoughts on 90 degree rotated cases, and on the FT05?  It would be sick if LinusTech  could get a sample and do a review, but who knows.

I've the RV05, which is basically the same, the only difference is exterior looks. It's a really good case, brilliant air cooling, second to none in many tests (From small tests, My build is nowhere near finished yet) although cable management is a bit tight round the back of the motherboard tray. PSU size is limited if you have 3.5" drives, I wouldn't go any bigger than a 160mm PSU if you have HDDs in it, as otherwise you'll struggle to run the cables.

@spwath can give a better idea on it as he's just finished a build in the FT05, so I'd leave it up to him to clear stuff up better than me with a completed build in it. I's suggest looking at his build log however, he does mention some stuff about it in there.

I love the whole 90 degrees rotated motherboard idea!
And I really don't like the vertical mounting HDD cage, that is one thing I'd never put my HDDs in, lol. :)

I have a tj11, which is 100% different, but the 90 degree motherboard mounting is the sameish. I personally think it looks better than regular mounting. But its an opinion, if you are watercooling, like myself, it becomes useless though, in a way.

Ok here we go:

The case looks and feels great, nice thick aluminum. Very classy. Great build quality.

Slightly difficult to build in, expect some time and frustration. It's no corsair in terms of cable management. On the other hand, it's no corsair in terms of quality (much better than corsair)

Haven't fired up my system yet, as my GPU is on RMA, so I can't say temps, but the dual ap181's are giant. Also, if you have a modular PSU, it will be much easier.

I made my finished build look pretty good with a non modular, will post pics soon,.

Sounds exactly like what I expected from the review.  I can't wait for photos.  Any thoughts on GPU coolers.  I read somewhere that non-reference coolers do not perform well in the rotated position.  Does anyone have any experience with that?  What I remember was they were saying that the heat pipes do not work well in a vertical orientation.

Heat pipe thing doesnt mater, its just you want the fans to go with the air flow. Ill see how mine performs, GPU will be here friday.

I can update you 2morrow.

Here is a size comparison i took to the phantom 410, will make beter pics now
