Need New 2.1 Speakers

Pommy192

I need a actual pair of decent speakers as the one i have now, the sub-woofer is nearly dead and makes some buzzing/wierd noise when there is heavy bass. The make is some random company and my dad found them in the workplace a few years ago about to be thrown out and they have done the job for quite some time, but, i want a good quality set of 2.1 speakers for gaming/listening to music.

I have narrowed down my search and found some sets of speakers:

Antec Soundscience Rockus 3D 2.1 (Motherboard has optical in so these could be useful)

Logitech 2.1 z623 - But i'm going to wait for these to go down in price because i'm not paying 140 quid for them

Any recommendations for less than 150 ish quid?

Mark.

^ Epic 2.1 speakers, my favorite out of all the 2.1's I've used

What's your budget? The Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 THX Certified Speakers are very very good, however they are quite expensive at £170.

I'm in the market for a pair of new speakers myself, however I'm considering an amp/dac + passive monitor solution as opposed to traditional powered computer speakers.

edit: What about something like these Fostex PM0.3d powered monitor speakers? They're priced at £75 and wouldn't require an amp/dac. Here's a video review of the Fostex PM series.

My budget is around £150 ish and the primary use is for when i don't want to wear my headset and for when friends are round for playing local splitscreen games ect.

The logitech one is the sort of style i'm looking for with the separate subwoofer with controls on a satellite or external remote

Well yeah for that I'd definitely go with Z623

Yeah, Logitech Z623 is good. I went for the Z506 because the Z623's sub wouldn't fit where I wanted it too be, and it was like $60 more expensive.
