Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with Modmic

Revolve

Hi guys, quick questions here for anyone who might know. I have a pair of Sennheiser RS 180 with a modmic which I'd like to use on my xbox one. If I want to do this I assume I would leave my headphones plugged into the TV and then plug the modmic into the xbox one adapter? I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere so I'm not sure if this is right or if I'm just being an idiot.

Thanks!

No one know the answer to this? I'd love some input as I'd rather not spring for the money to buy it if it's not gonna work :P

You probably have to use some kind of microphone/headphone splitter when using the modmic alone.

Also, if you don't plug your headphones into the controller you won't hear anyone afaik.

Ah so a y splitter and instead of plugging headphones directly to the TV just have that and the modmic into the splitter?

Everywhere I read people seem to have an amp or something to plug the mic and headphones into for some reason, is that necessary or are those people just audiophiles or something?

Apparently there's no problem with plugging the headphones into the adapter too, for game sound you'd just have to turn the audio-balancing up.

But I can't confirm any of this as I don't have the adapter.

Normally it's: xbox one -> amp (optical) -> headphones -> cable into the controller for gamechat

Your case: xbox one -> controller -> y-splitter -> headphones/modmic

From turtlebeach: "I'm connecting the headset to the Xbox One Headset adapter for both game and chat audio. I can hear people in chat but I can't hear the game. What's wrong?

Make sure the Game Balance isn't turned all the way down by pressing [one of the buttons] repeatedly."

That's great thanks! Ordered both the splitter and the adapter from amazon so will see if it works. I appreciate your input, thanks!
