Because you don't need AV, much less a paid one especially when there are free alternatives.

I agree with Theo. The free antivirus is junk with ads. Although some are decent but still have ads. I rather spend a few dollars and buy one. They are so cheap anyways you might as well support them and get an extra layer of security.

The key question now is.Can you use multiple of these keys to stack activation?you could buy like 5-10 and forget about antivirus protection for a long time, since Bitdefender is the best i guess, not sure if theres such thing as best antivirus or best browser or best OS,but certainly BT internet security on windows is as good as it gets.

If you absolutely HAVE to have AV because you have no browsing sense then Malwarebytes and MSE are all you need, they are free and don't have adverts and work extremely well. However the best defense against viruses and malware is to not be a fuckwit which obviously requires experience.

I didn't even install AV after my last refresh and I guarantee that I can install it now and it will show jack shit or just pick up false positives because it doesn't know any better.

Lol so you do have no idea how the internet works and all the ways you can get a virus.

Leave the condescending attitude, learn the different ways you can get a virus and come back to this thread

That so cute, 5 1/2 months of normal(and abnormal if you know what I mean -nudge nudge-) usage and not a dammed thing. I doubt there's anything that you do on the internet that I don't do and not a dammed thing to be found on my PC.

Same as my last two installs too except the last one was an 8 month run and before that it was a 7 month run. I didn't bother installing AV this time as it sat there being useless on my last two installs just eating up system resources.

Well done.

Now how about you plug in a usb drive from a friend because he has an essay you want, oh his pc is infected and MSE/Malwarebytes wont do shit.

You do online banking/ trading and you open one phished link and you're done.

You want to dl something but that site you think is legit but was compromised, aaaaand you're done.

And ive encountered all those things. If you do nothing serious then you dont need an AV but if you do, then MSE and malware bytes wont do shit

If you fall for a phisher you deserve to be phished. At least exercise basic caution or you shouldn't be allowed to use the internet.

Wow... AV Eats resources... well it eats A LOT if you are using 2GB of ram and like dual-core 1.4 GHz processor

I mean the design of the website, the flashy bold lettering, timers etc. All looks like the kind of banners you see on the web "You have a VIRUS! Click HERE to clean your PC NAOOO!"
