HDD to SSD migration guide

ryane

As titled, looking to upgrade from a HDD to an SSD for a laptop. Read a few articles and guides on how to do this but not sure how to keep my OS after the migration. Also wondering what other complications or things i need to take note of during the process. If possible a complete guide would be highly appreciated as I cant seem to find one on the forum. Thanks!

connect both drives to a normal computer and do a shadow copy

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

The HDD is currently my boot drive. Do I need to download the OS or get the activation code before hand?

Some SSD vendors provide software like Norton Ghost, where you can create an image of your old HDD and simply deploy it to SSD.
