Corsair M65 Vs. Logitech G502

Everyone one is buying G502,even reviews say that it's the best all in one gaming mouse.

Corsair M65 has a maximum of 8200 dpi while G502 has a maximum of 12000 dpi.

In aesthetics, both are Sexy.

In build quality, I don't have a word on it. Need help here.

The display resolution is 1440P so I have no idea if 8200 dpi is enough for it.

Why I am choosing corsair?

I will be already buying K70 Mech keyboard so I though that it would look good to have complete peripherals from a single company.

the g502 in my opinon as it was my daily driver is a nice mouse but the build quality is atrocious it feels too light and like it is going to fall apart on me at any moment my friends m65 feels much more sturdy and i use a rat 7 now

Definetely don't choose one over the other for dpi, 5600 is insane on 1080p so will 8600 on 1440p. I can't even imagine 12000.

corsair has a much more sturdy mouse  the logitech has more features at the sacrifice of build quality remember he has used one i have used both

I personally like Corsair in general. I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm a bit of a corsair fanboy so obviously for me it is the M65 (what I'm going for anyway). However that aside I generally do not like Logitech as I feel it is more of a cheaper brand (despite being equal in price in most cases) I still consider them not-as-good due to my experience with old Logitech peripherals back in like 2004.

Wut? Logitech & bad build quality? Are you sure that it wasn't some chinese knock-off thing you were using? 

I've tested the G502 and it feels pretty darn sturdy, and it even is one of the heavier mice available. (without the weights!). Logitech is even known for having an amazing build quality so yh. Don't really get you.

The sensor of the G502 is also considered the best sensor available right now (optical!!!) so yeah.

And I'm not the only one who says this. Go look at the reviews of the G502. I haven't seen any bad/negative reviews on it. It simply has one of the best sensors, Logitech products (especially mice) are very well built so 'attacking' me and saying that I only recommend Logitech products because I'm a so called fanboy is kinda retarded.

Hell, even Linus recommended this mouse, he liked it and even called it a successor to the G9x which, imo, is one of the best mice I have ever used when it comes to comfort and feeling.

Get the one you feel most comfortable with.

Test them out if you can and just pick the one that feels best. I'd rather have a mouse that feels good in the hand with a slightly worse sensor than a mouse with an amazing sensor but which starts hurting my hand after playing a while.

G502 has a flawless sensor and a handful of extra buttons which is always nice. It is heavy even without any of the extra weights, which my might be a turn off for some.

M65 has a flawed sensor and less buttons. It's quite heavy, too. M45 has the same shape but has a flawless sensor like the G502, although M45 doesn't have the aluminum swag of M65.

 

DPI is not indicator of quality in anyway. Many people use as low as 400 DPI on 1080p, although more common number is between 800 and 1600 DPI. On 1440p I don't see anyone needing more than 3200 DPI unless you're one of those people who must maximize the DPI for whatever reasons.

 

One thing to note that aluminum/metal in a product doesn't automatically make it higher quality, or sturdier. It all depends if the aluminum is used to reinforce something and not just used as aesthetic option.

But why? What benefit does it give? It might feel nice but in the end you are just locking yourself out of possibly better options for a logo.

I was deciding between the two, also (see http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/236501-m65-rgb-vs-g502/), and I decided to get both of them and see which one was better. I noticed that I did much better with the g502, since it had zero hardware acceleration. Laser sensors aren't BAD, but they have sensor acceleration, so the ratio between the distance you move the mouse and the distance the cursor moves will not be consistent. This isn't a huge issue, but it makes shooting with muscle memory much harder. I would definitely suggest the g502 (if you are willing to give up the DISCO lights of the m65 rgb). Sure, the m65 has slightly better build quality than the g502, but the g502's build quality is still terrific. It's better than my old deathadder by far. So in my opinion, go with the g502 (not because of 12,000 dpi, but because of no acceleration). You can't turn of hardware acceleration. Sure, matching companies are always convenient, but the g502 has a much easier software than the m65 also. You won't regret getting the g502, and you will become a much better gamer with it. That's my suggestion. 

 

P.S. I said that I decided on the m65 in that forum, but I changed my mind and bought both to try. Kept g502 (best decision) and I have no regrets whatsoever. I hear the LED's on the g502 are RGB led's, but as of now, the drivers can't make them change colors.

I have a Corsair K60 and a G300. Based on what I read when I was going to upgrade to the G502, the G502 sports a better user interface which is rock solid (I can vouch for this using the G300). Also, Logitech does not require you to send your peripheral all the way to China/ Japan and normally has service centers located everywhere, so it's more convenient. Also, my G300 has lived up with me since over 5 years now and the only sign of wear is the plastic becoming shiny because of constant use. 

 

On a similar note, the G502 sports a zero acceleration sensor which based on multiple reviews has really zero acceleration. If you are planning on using your mouse for gaming, I think this could be your biggest deciding factor.

 

I can't really comment about the M65 since I don't really like the way how Corsair mice look aesthetically, but don't worry about getting peripherals from the same company, it won't matter. Choose what you think is best.

I just got my G502 today, my only issue for me is I wish the thumb rest extended to the back of the mouse since the corner between the rest and the main mouse makes the place below my thumb uncormfortable, but other than that the sensor is outstanding,the build quality seems... okay but not amazing and the software is great to use.

So reading the newer comments of people who have actually bought it,I think I will just stick with corsair as the build quality is okay as stated by the owners.
