How to Pronounce "Nvidia"

This is a bit silly, I know, but it has always kinda been bugging me. I always thought that it was pronounced "N-vidia", but my friends say that it is pronounced "in-vidia". I really am not sure and I would like to know so I don't sound dumb when I say it.

lol I know it's weird, I'm not sure if this is right but I pronounce it "N-vidia".

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

Yeah same 'N-videa' you remember those old games on PC like red alert and stuff that used to say N-Videa at the start in a womans voice :P I dont think the company would say their own name wrong :D

I'd go with N-Videa as well.

Edit: In the video above it could be both In- and En-videa(N-videa) o.O

What kind of name is this anyway? What does it mean?

Yap that video clears the thing up

Don't know if u guys are awared that in spanish (or any other latin based language like italian)

Nvidia sounds exactly how we prononce "envidia" which means "Envy"

So if that was the intention of the company we should pronounce it like the spanish word "Envidia"

so this is how it should sound

http://translate.google.com/?hl=es#en/es/envidia

It comes from the word "Invidia" which is Latin for envy.  It explains their green company color as well as their logo, the eye, since envy comes from seeing things.  Which also fits into what they do, graphics.  It's a pretty clever name overall I think.
