Silent cases: One stupid question

Zillox

Hi guys,

I've got a stupid question: why does the pc not overheat in a silent case.

The there are coolers in the front panel, but why aren't they disturbed by the closed door?

Greetings, Zillox

PS: Sorry, i don't know really much about silent cases...

less holes less audible noise. most cases with doors on the front have vents along the sides or bottom of the unit

My question has always been, why people don't just turn their volume up?

I'm talking your actual speakers, not headset. Even then, turn it up moar :P

Seriously, I have my fans running on full blast at all times and I hardly even notice it in my air 540

I guess you get used to it over time. My fans are always at 12v as well.

I don't allways listen/watch something so i am very grateful for a very silent PC while idleing/webbrowsing

In games it doesn't really matter. :D

who cares...

I guess, I recently did notice a change in the noise after putting my gpu back in once I got my RMA replacement. I'm worried/hoping the fans on it are broken so I can send it back to EVGA again

Most people don't want their volume up high just to overpower the fans. Especially in the middle of the night.

You know the saying.... if it's too loud, your too old :P lol

I've just never seen where fans on PC's make that much noise, and I have 3 noctua 1500rpm fans going at full blast, as well as two corsair purple led 140's, and 3 of those cougar, orange bladed 120's. Nor do I find the sound of a fan annoying, then again I have tinitus so silence is unbearable to me.

Never noticed how loud my old rig was, until I built my first watercooled rig. Had them running parallel... and then shut the old one down first. Damn, that silence was quite shocking (in a good way though). :D Instantly hated my old rig from then on (ok, noise was only one factor, performance played a major role in that as well, but the noise was certainly what brought it over the edge - so I probably won't even keep it as a secondary rig for anything).

[Main rig "ToXxXiC":]
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K | MB: ASUS Maximus VII Formula | RAM: G.Skill TridentX 32GB 2400MHz (DDR-3) | GPU: EVGA GTX980 Hydro Copper | Storage: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD + Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD (+NAS) | Sound: OnBoard | PSU: XFX Black Edition Pro 1050W 80+ Gold | Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II | Cooling: Full Custom Watercooling Loop (CPU+GPU+MB) | OS: Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit)
