so i need to learn what exactly is going on on F@H so i dont feel dumb..help?

Go to solution Solved by 2mbur2n,

Some WU (work units) are tougher than others. They all don't give the relatively correct number of points, either. Give it time.

The 8812 is the project number you happen to be working on.

so pretty much what im asking is all of a sudden this WU is taking my CPU an insane amount of time, by now it would have done 2 or 3 of what it has been all week but in 5 hours its only done 23% im using the web controler in waterfox(firefox) can someone explain what exactly some of this stuff means? like the number under my GPU, the 8812(0,21,325)?

go into the advanced client instead of the web client, it will give you more detailed information, ETA, TPF, etc etc for your cpu slot.

stops at 91% and doesn't progress at all even if you keep folding? you might have received a bad wu. I would let it work for abit and see if it does anything, if it's still stuck, you could remove it and start over again. Locate the work folder within the files belonging to the fah client, and delete the contents, then restart the client and have it fetch new work units, or you could try the dump command option.

explained in the fourth comment here: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=19047

last one might be the best option, but admittedly never done it myself.

I've noticed that all CPU based work units always take longer to complete, regardless of the work unit. I had some CPU based work units go for 3 days, with minimal points. Its a pain, but hey, if we all could have the best fold machines, then @Whaler_99 would loose his F@H leader badge very quickly......

I had to chuckle at that... I don't have a "leader" badge because I am first place... but because I am the "team leader" in that I started the team, maintain the badges, contribute in some of the captains forums and discussions and help with a lot of the trouble shooting. :) Same as how @alpenwasser has the Boinc leader badge.

But now you got me thinking... I could use another badge I think. ;)
