How to remove this virus?

So working on someone elses computer and I noticed this. I'm using chrome but would like to get the restriction off if at all possible.

1. Click Start -> type regedit in the search box -> press Enter

2. Navigate to the following registry.

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Ratings

 

3. Right click Ratings and choose export, save the registry to desktop for backup.

4. In the right pane, delete the value named key

5. Go to C:\Windows\System, find ratings.pol and rename it. (If it doesn't exist, skip this step)

6. Go to IE and check the result.

get roguekiller on a usb drive and run it in safe mode. its never failed me

you could also try going in to internet settings through control panel and resetting internet explorer. That may fix it.

this looks like your parents have put on some sort of content filtering on the web.

 

good luck with that.

 

anyway try a portable web browser,  think there is a opera version, alsov you just need to run malware bytes and a AV scan.

I know I can't force anything here but you should tell them to consider getting a more up to date OS.

If it is a virus, try HitmanPro. They offer a 30 day trial to try out the software which will scan and remove viruses that most antiviruses won't catch.

If nothing comes up, then it's most likely a web filter.

*EDIT* Content Advisor is a add on that Internet Explorer has in it to restrict web access to inappropriate web sites.
