Best typing and gaming keyboard?

IconicActual
Go to solution Solved by sqwidee,

If you work with Excel or any other spreadsheet program you'll regret getting a tenkeyless, so for Corsair that'd be the K70, Coolermaster also has a bunch of boards with Numpad.

Cherry MX Brown switches if you need to have a quiet board, Blues if you want loud clicky clicks.

I am trying to get my hands on a new keyboard, preferably mechanical, and didn't want to break the bank, any suggestions?

Blues have a crisper actuation than browns but are louder. Any keyboard will do, gaming keyboards are selling point, check out some in my sig.

I love my Ducky Shine 3 w/Browns. Switched to it from a Blackwidow Ultimate w/Blues. I've since found that I prefer blues but I prefer the ducky overall for design, build quality (more sturdy and thus more satisfying to hit keys), fancy lighting animations and the fact I don't need a background process to use it.

Mind you, many of the mechanical keyboards on the market these days are great. Corsair, Cooler Master, Filco, WASD, DAS, and a bunch of others make very good keyboards with the switch you prefer. It's pretty much become a case of pick the one you like the look of the most with the switches you like the feel of the most and you're set for infinity keystrokes. There are a few exceptions to this, where if you don't like Cherry MX switches but like the old IBM springs then you have to get that exact model but if you like Cherry MX switches then the choice is HUGE.
